Security

Security, built in from the start.

Medical records are among the most sensitive documents a team handles. This page sets out the standards Sortal holds, what the technology is built on, and how your records are handled from receipt to return.

01

Our own technology

Sortal is our own technology, built from the ground up on secure infrastructure. It is designed specifically for medical records and the teams who review them.

Sortal does not run on ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot. Building the technology ourselves means we control how records move through the system and can hold it to the standards below.

02

Accreditations and recognition

  • ISO 42001Artificial intelligence management systems. Sortal is the first AI in the medico-legal space to be accredited to this standard.
  • ISO 27001Information security management systems, covering how information is protected across the organisation.
  • ISO 14001Environmental management systems.
  • Queen's AwardQueen's Award winners.
  • Informed SolutionsSortal works in association with Informed Solutions.

03

Confidentiality, from receipt to return

Records are handled with security, control and confidentiality in mind at every stage: when they arrive, while they are organised, indexed and summarised, and when they are returned to you.

Sortal organises, indexes and summarises records. Professional decisions stay with your team, and every summary points back to the underlying pages so you can check anything against the source.

If you have specific requirements, for example around access, retention or the format in which records are returned, talk to us and we will walk you through how we handle them.
